New Speciality Exam for CDMP: Data Integration and Interoperability

ICCP has added a new specialty exam,  Data Integration and Interoperability, which will apply toward the Certified Data Management Professional and Certified Business Intelligence Professional certification programs. It was a tremendous effort on the part of a dedicated team of industry professional to create this exam in 4 months.

ICCP's process is to encourage existing CBIP, CDMP and CCP holders to take the examination in Beta for free (to gather the needed data on effectiveness of the exam questions.)  Later if beta exam takers wish to convert it to a final (adjusted) score toward certification, or for their ongoing recertification education and renewal, they will be charged a discounted fee of $195.

The beta exams are typically available to DAMA and TDWI chapters for a limited time.  Here's the current timing schedule that the ICCP Certification Council  is working towards.

Beta Period:
Start - July 9
End - Oct 31
Review by  - Nov 30
Final adjusted scores by - Dec 15

Please note that these are CDMP exams only.  We will not have the tests for other ICCP certifications.

Some technical requirements:

• Each exam taker must bring a laptop because the exams run off a USB drive.
• The exam software runs on all Windows platforms. It is best to use a Windows laptop rather than another laptop platform, but we have been able to use Apple Macs running a Windows OS. 
• Make sure that you bring your AC power supply.

Some other notes:

• You are on your own for meals and snacks.
• You do not have to be in attendance at the start of each testing period.  But, since each 110-question test must be completed in a 90 minute period, you should start all tests no later than 90 minutes before the end of a testing period (before 10:30 AM or before 2:30 PM).
• ICCP has requested that you also fill out a small paper registration form that shows the test(s) that you take and the scores.  This provides double check to ensure that all USB drives are processed.

Note, this is an exam event only.  There will be no overview, review, or practice of the exams.

This course will help you:

• Understand the DAMA CDMP certification
• Familiarize yourself with the coverage of each exam outline
• Learn the process of taking ICCP exams for the CDMP
• Better prepare through time-pressure sample exam testing and question review

Exam information

• The exams given via USB drive - please bring a laptop to take the exams.  Wireless Internet access is available at this site.
• Each exam is 90 minutes in length and has 110 multiple-choice questions
• Your exam score is immediately known at the conclusion of the exam
• A passing grade is 50% correct or higher
• Exams for bootcamp participants are ‘pay if you pass’ ($285 each). Retakes are allowed.
• Drop-in exams are available for non-Bootcamp participants, however ‘pay if you pass’ is not an option. Cost is $285 per exam. Please contact Eva Smith if you are interested in drop-in exam proctoring
• Exam fees are collected on-site

The cost for this CDMP Bootcamp is $495 for DAMA members and $695 for non-members.  The workshop price includes continental breakfast and lunch both days as well as all CDMP prep materials.   

NOTE:  Registration and the workshop fee must be paid to the ICCP prior to the class date.  Study materials will be sent upon payment.  Exam fees are in addition to the workshop fee and must be paid separately by check or credit card on-site at the workshop.

The CDMP Community expands in the UK

The UK has eight new Certified Data Management Professionals!  

Two  CDMP Bootcamps were held in Bath this year,  led by Chris Bradley (tucked away at the back of the photos).  

The  first of the UK CDMP bootcamp classes was held on the 12 & 13 of October 2011).  Three attendees were Mr. Chris Daniels, James Adman & Trevor Hodges.  All 3 took the Data Warehousing specialist subject exam, and all 3 have passed their CDMP. James & Chris at Master level, Trevor at Practitioner level, only missing on the DM core by 1%.

Five more passed the CDMP exams at the bootcamp held on the 22 - 24 of November. Three of whom passed at “Master” level.
